Medicare scam: Houston doctor bills you more

by patrol

The Medicare industry is rampant with scams. You cannot distinguish the good from the fake if you are careless. And even the disabled are not excluded from such scams. This particular scam is a game on the physically-challenged. A Houston doctor, along with two of his accomplices, has been involved in a multi-million dollar Medicare fraud scam from 2003 to 2009.

Dr. Howard Grant, Clinton Lee and Obisike Nwankwo do an online business that is very rewarding to them – they sell wheel chairs and orthotic devices through their online website to customers who are in need of it. All that a customer needs to do to buy a wheel chair is to book through the site and then, get it delivered at their doorstep. Everything is smooth and the product is delivered at your doorstep. But, you have a surprise – you are asked to pay more than what is mentioned on the website. You are actually over-billed. Since the item is at your doorstep and you need it very badly, you don’t mind the “over-billing” and get the item. Only later, it was discovered it was a scam.
